Free until you need stock control

Loyverse is a good product and its free tier is a real offer. This page is not going to pretend otherwise. But the free tier stops where most shops actually start, and that is where the arithmetic is worth doing.

The arithmetic

What a working shop ends up paying

Take a single shop that wants stock control, logins for three staff, and more than a year of its own sales history. Nothing exotic.

Loyverse prices from its published pricing page, September 2026. Check them yourself before deciding.

The point is the shape, not the number

Loyverse gets more expensive as you grow: another member of staff is another five dollars every month, for as long as they work for you. poSell is nine dollars per shop whatever you do inside it. If you never need stock control and you run the till yourself, Loyverse free is cheaper than we will ever be, and you should use it.

Both directions

Where each one actually wins

Loyverse: it keeps selling offline

The line drops and the till carries on. poSell runs in the browser and needs a connection. If your internet is unreliable this outweighs everything on this page, and you should stay where you are.

Loyverse: phone and tablet apps

Native iOS and Android. poSell is browser only. If you sell away from the counter, at a market stall or a delivery round, that is a real gap on our side.

Loyverse: card readers and displays

Built-in integrations with card providers in dozens of countries, plus a kitchen display and a customer display. poSell records how a sale was paid but does not talk to the terminal, and has neither display.

Loyverse: a million businesses

Years of other shops finding the edges first. poSell is new as a product, though the engine underneath has been developed in the open since 2013.

poSell: the bill does not grow

Nine dollars covers stock control, every member of staff and all of your history. Hiring someone does not change the invoice.

poSell: deeper purchasing side

Goods receiving with weighted average cost, several stock locations, variants, product kits, serial numbers and supplier reports. See what the stock side does.

poSell: profit is a column

Purchase price sits beside sale price, so margin per product and per category is read rather than calculated. Twenty reports, exportable to Excel. See the reporting.

poSell: you can read the code

Built on Open Source Point of Sale. Nothing about the data is proprietary and you can run the same engine yourself if you ever want to. See what that means.

Straight answer

Do not switch if

Your connection drops more than rarely. Your staff ring up sales on a phone or tablet away from the counter. You need a kitchen display. You are on the free tier, happy, and do not need stock control.

Switch if you are already paying Loyverse for add-ons, the bill has grown past what a till is worth to you, and the things you pay extra for are stock control and staff logins. That is the case where nine dollars flat changes the answer.

Questions

Questions people ask before switching

Is Loyverse really free?
The point of sale itself is, and that is a real offer, not a trick. What costs money are the add-ons. At the time of writing Loyverse lists advanced inventory at 25 USD per store per month, employee management at 5 USD per employee per month, and unlimited sales history at 5 USD per store per month. A shop that wants stock control, three staff logins and more than a year of history is paying 45 USD a month.
So what does poSell cost for the same thing?
Nine dollars per store per month, with stock control, unlimited staff logins and full sales history included. There is no per-employee charge and no tier where your own history is taken away from you.
Where is Loyverse genuinely better?
Several places, and it would be dishonest to skip them. Loyverse has iOS and Android apps, it keeps selling when the internet drops, it has built-in integrations with card readers in dozens of countries, it has a kitchen display and a customer display, and it is used by over a million businesses. poSell has none of those things today.
Where is poSell better?
Price shape, mainly. Everything is in the nine dollars, so the bill does not grow when you hire someone or when your history passes a year. The stock side is deeper than a free tier usually gives: goods receiving with weighted average cost, multiple stock locations, variants, kits and serial numbers. And the software underneath is open source, so you can read it or run it yourself.
Does poSell work offline like Loyverse?
No. poSell runs in the browser and selling needs a connection. Loyverse keeps working when the line drops. If your shop loses internet often, that difference matters more than the price does, and you should pick Loyverse.
Can I move my data from Loyverse to poSell?
Products and customers can be brought in from a spreadsheet. Sales history cannot be moved, because the two systems store it differently. Most shops switch at a month boundary and keep the old account readable for a while.
Who should not switch?
Anyone who sells away from the counter and needs a phone or tablet app. Anyone whose connection is unreliable. Anyone who needs a kitchen display. And anyone happy on the free tier who does not need stock control, because free is hard to beat on price.
Who should switch?
A shop paying for Loyverse add-ons, especially advanced inventory or several employee licences, and finding the bill has quietly grown past what the till is worth. That is the case where nine dollars flat changes the arithmetic.

Ninety days is long enough to know

No card, nothing to cancel. Run both for a month if you want to.
