For grocery and convenience stores

Scan, sell, and let the stock take care of itself

A corner shop runs on two things the till usually gets wrong: the count on the shelf and the margin on the line. poSell puts the register, the stock room and the reports on one screen, in the browser, with the scanner you already own. There is a list further down of what it does not do.

At the till

Nothing to install, nothing to learn twice

Your scanner already works

Barcode scanners type the number like a keyboard. poSell reads it. No driver, no model list, no compatibility page to check first.

No product limit

A few thousand lines is an ordinary shop, not a larger plan. There is no charge per product and no ceiling to bump into on a busy Saturday.

Loose goods by weight

Quantity takes three decimal places, so 0.750 kg of tomatoes against a per-kilo price rings up the same way as three tins of beans.

Built for fingers

An on-screen keypad means no keyboard is needed at the counter. Discounts go on a line or on the whole basket, and split payments are recorded as they happened.

Behind the till

The count on screen is the count on the shelf

Stock moves with the sale

Every sale takes the quantity out; every delivery booked in puts it back. There is no second program to update afterwards and no evening spent reconciling two lists.

Reorder levels

Set a level per line and the report tells you what is running down before the shelf does. See the stock side in full.

Margin is a column

Purchase price sits beside sale price, so the margin on a crate of drinks is read rather than worked out. Goods receiving uses weighted average cost, so a supplier's price change does not quietly rewrite your history.

Where reality disagrees

Stock can be adjusted by hand with a reason recorded, and a count report puts the system's number next to yours. Breakage and shrinkage become visible instead of being absorbed.

End of day in one screen

Takings by payment type, best sellers, margin per product and per category. Twenty reports with date ranges, exportable to Excel. See the reporting.

Two shops, two addresses

Each shop gets its own address and its own data, with reports per shop or across both. Nine dollars each, and the second shop does not need a bigger plan.

Straight answer

What poSell does not do

It needs a connection. poSell runs in the browser, so if your line drops, selling stops. A till that keeps working offline is a real requirement for some shops and we do not meet it.

It does not talk to your card terminal. poSell records that a sale was paid by card, and how much, but taking the payment is still your terminal's job. In exchange, we take no percentage of anything.

It does not read your scale, and price-embedded scale barcodes are not supported today. You read the weight and type it in.

There is no phone or tablet app, and it is not a certified fiscal device — where the law requires a certified receipt, that receipt still comes from the certified machine.

Questions

Questions shopkeepers ask

Will it work with the scanner I already have?
Almost certainly. Barcode scanners behave like keyboards: the scanner types the number and poSell reads it. There is no driver to install and no scanner model list to check against. If it types the barcode into a text field today, it will work.
How many products can I have?
There is no product limit and no charge per product. A convenience store with several thousand lines is an ordinary case, not a larger plan.
Does stock actually stay right?
Every sale takes the quantity out and every goods receipt puts it back, so the count on screen is the count the system believes. Reorder levels flag lines running down. Where reality and the system disagree, stock can be adjusted by hand with a reason recorded, and a count report shows the two numbers side by side.
Can I sell loose fruit and veg by weight?
Yes. Quantity takes three decimal places, so 0.750 kg against a per-kilo price works the same way as three tins of beans. You read the weight off your scale and type it in; poSell does not read the scale itself and does not support price-embedded scale barcodes today.
What do I see at the end of the day?
Takings by payment type, best sellers, and margin per product and per category, because purchase price is stored beside sale price. Twenty reports with date ranges, exportable to Excel.
I have two shops. Does that work?
Each shop gets its own address, such as shop2.posell.app, with its own data, its own products and its own staff logins. You can report on one shop or across all of them. Each shop is $9 per month.
What does it cost, really?
$9 per store per month, or $90 per year. Everything is included: stock control, unlimited staff logins, full sales history. We do not keep a cheaper tier with the useful parts removed and we do not take a percentage of your sales. The first 90 days are free and do not need a card.
What does poSell not do?
It needs an internet connection to sell, so it does not keep working when the line drops. It does not talk to your card terminal, it does not read your scale, and there is no phone or tablet app. It is not a certified fiscal device either, so where the law requires a certified receipt, that receipt still comes from the certified machine.

Ninety days is long enough to know

No card, nothing to cancel. Put your real product list in and see whether the stock count holds up for a month.
