Quantity takes 1.250 as readily as it takes 2. Set the product's price per kilo, type the weight from your scale, and the line total is worked out. Nothing switches modes and there is no separate weighed-goods screen to learn.

A butcher's till has two jobs a clothes shop's till does not: it has to take a weight rather than a count, and it has to survive a cost price that changes with every delivery. poSell does both, in the browser on the counter you already have. Half a dozen eggs, a jar of sauce and 1.250 kg of mince go on one sale without changing how you work. The register does not care which kind of line it is.
Built for fingers
An on-screen keypad means no keyboard is needed at the counter, and the same screen behaves identically with a mouse. Discounts can be given per line or on the whole ticket.

What the cut actually earns
The hard part of a meat counter is not the selling, it is knowing what the selling was worth after a delivery came in at a different price from last week.
Purchase price beside sale price
Cost is stored on the product, so margin per product and per category is read from a report rather than reconstructed from invoices at the end of the month.
Weighted average cost on receiving
Book a delivery in and the cost figure moves to the weighted average rather than being overwritten by the newest invoice. Buying the same cut at three prices over a month leaves you with a cost you can trust.
Stock that drops as you sell

What poSell does not do
It does not read your scale. You read the weight and type it in. There is no cable between poSell and the scale, and price-embedded scale barcodes are not supported today. If your counter depends on the scale printing a barcode that the till then reads, poSell will slow you down and you should not switch.
It does not sell offline. poSell runs in the browser and needs a connection. If your line drops often, that matters more than anything else on this page.
It does not talk to your card terminal, and there is no phone or tablet app. poSell records how a sale was paid; taking the card is still your terminal's job.
It is not a certified fiscal device. Wherever the law requires a certified receipt, that receipt still comes from the certified machine. poSell is your record of the business, not the tax authority's.

Can I sell by weight rather than by item?
Yes. Quantity accepts three decimal places, so 1.250 kg of mince is rung up as 1.250 against a per-kilo price and the line total is worked out for you. The same field handles half a dozen eggs, so a counter that sells both weighed and counted goods does not need two ways of working.
Does poSell read my scale automatically?
No, and we would rather say so plainly than let you find out after switching. You read the weight off your scale and type it into the quantity field. There is no cable between poSell and the scale, and no support for price-embedded scale barcodes today.

Do I need new hardware?
No. poSell runs in a browser on the computer already on your counter and works with the barcode scanner you already own. There is nothing to install and no server to run. A touchscreen is nice because the register has an on-screen keypad, but a mouse works the same way.
Can I run more than one shop?
Yes. Each shop gets its own address, such as shop2.posell.app, with its own data and its own staff. Reports can be read per shop or across all of them. Each shop is $9 per month.
What does it cost?
$9 per shop per month, or $90 per year. Stock control, every member of staff and all of your sales history are included; there is no cheaper tier with the useful parts removed and we do not take a percentage of your sales. The first 90 days are free and do not need a card.
